Paulo Rosado is Founder and CEO of OutSystems, a company founded in 2001 with a vision to help customers innovate faster and fundamentally change how enterprise software is developed. Staying true to that vision, Paulo has led OutSystems to become a recognized global leader and pioneer in the low code development market and one of the fastest growing B2B tech companies in the world. In 2018, OutSystems became Portugal’s first home-grown "unicorn”.
He moved to the United States in the mid-1990s on a Fulbright Master’s Degree grant to study computational science at Stanford University. Unlike most engineers, Paulo is very much at ease communicating with humans and manages to get them to immerse themselves in the world of software without knowledge of any programming language. Before starting OutSystems, he co-founded Intervento, an e-business software infrastructure company that was successfully sold in 1999. He also worked for Oracle Corporation, where he held multiple positions in R&D and product management. He participated in multiple executive education programs and hold a Master's in Computer Science from Stanford University and a Computer Engineering degree from Universidade Nova, Lisbon. Paulo is also a recognized thought leader and visionary in software architecture. Besides his daily job as CEO of OutSystems, he spends some of his spare time lecturing MBAs and mentoring entrepreneurs on growing their businesses.
